Brittani Shells Honored With First Year Spirit Award

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman standout Brittani Shells was honored with the Donnie Earl Lindsey, Jr. First Year Spirit Award handed out by the University of Richmond Athletic Department. The award is given in memory of Donnie Earl Lindsey, Jr. to a male or female freshman or student-athlete who exemplifies excellence in athletics, leadership, scholarship, and talent.

Shells, the native of Camden, Del. had a sensational first year at Richmond. The guard led the Spiders averaging 14 points per game in the 2007-08 season, scoring a career-high 27 points on two occasions.

The rookie garnered post season honors handed out by the Atlantic 10 conference; Shells was named All-Conference Honorable Mention and was a member of the All-Rookie Team.
