UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond senior Eric Sciocchetti was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second-Team in voting conducted among the conference's coaches.

Sciocchetti and senior Phil Hartman was each named to Academic All-Conference Team for the second-straight year in voting conducted among the A-10 sports information directors.

Sciocchetti, who was the 2006 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year and a First-Team All-Atlantic 10 selection last year, was picked to the all-conference team for the third-consecutive year. Richmond went 4-14-1 overall and 1-8 in conference play, but Sciocchetti allowed just 23 goals in 19 games and 13 goals in nine conference matches.

Sciocchetti had an .820 save percentage and 1.17 goals against average with a career-high 105 saves on the season. The Wallingford, Pa. native finished his career as Richmond's all-time leader in saves with 396 and he finished tied for fifth on the school's career list with 13 shutouts.

"Eric had a great year, which might be tough to see with our inability to score," Richmond head coach Jeff Gettler said. "He never quit, never gave up and this honor is a great reflection of his abilities, that the other coaches in the league would vote for him when, as a team, we did not produce enough positive results."

Sciocchetti is a double major in Spanish and international business.

Phil Hartman was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference Team for the second-straight year.

Hartman played in and started all 19 games as a defender, playing a key role in Richmond's defense which allowed just 23 goals in 19 games for a 1.17 goals against average. The Roanoke, Va. native is in his second year as the team captain and started all 40 games over the past two seasons.

He started 73 of the 76 games during his four-year career and was been part of a defense that has allowed just 67 goals in 58 games over the past three seasons. The 2006 team co-MVP had two-career assists.

"Phil and Eric are getting recognized for consistent, excellent academic performance over four years," Gettler said. "This is well deserved and as they epitomize the true spirit of the student-athlete."
